Walmart to Host Vendor Symposium at Expo
For the first time ever, the In-Store Marketing Expo will open this year with an afternoon of uniquely informative symposia.On Thursday, Nov. 13, Walmart vendors have the opportunity to learn firsthand how to use the new Walmart Smart Network to their advantage at "Best Practices and Key Learning from Wal-Mart's New Strategic Messaging Platform" a session led by executives from Walmart, its agencies and research experts. This symposium is open only to members of the Walmart vendor community.
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, registrants can learn more about "The New World of Shopper Marketing" and how to take advantage of it from executives at Interscope.
Proteus will also host "Visual Solutions to Marketing Problems: From Consumer Insights to the Retail Floor" on Wednesday about translating consumer, brand and market insights into visual solutions for the retail arena.
A two-day event, "The Power of Entertainment @ Retail" features speakers from Borders, Sears, Walgreens and more discussing the power of music, movies and other entertainment properties in-store.
All sessions require separate registration and additional fees. One free session, "The Nuts & Bolts of P-O-P," will be presented Wednesday and Friday afternoons by Benchmarc Display. For more information or to register for the symposiums, visit the Symposiums Web page at www.instorexpo.com.
The symposiums are in addition to the full, two-day slate of Expo seminars, which take place Thursday and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Each seminar falls into one of six tracks: Sustainability; Channel Insights; Shopper Insights; Collaborate, Activate, Engage; Retail Media; or Packaging. Thursday highlights include "Evolution of the Orange Box" with The Home Depot's Brad Williams and "Improving Your Shoppers' Perception of Your Brand" with Big 5 Sporting Goods' Joy Albritten. On Friday, catch "Connections at Shelf" with Colleen Dehmer from General Mills.
The In-Store Marketing Expo will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 12 to 14. It is hosted by the In-Store Marketing Institute.
